DOCTORS DON'T HAVE THE CALENDAR
One of the first questions people usually ask after a terminal diagnosis is: How long do we have? The answer you get depends on several things: .....But there is no expiration date written on the bottoms of our feet – or anywhere else, for that matter.
Regardless of timeline, once a person receives a terminal diagnosis, it’s important to be sure their affairs are in order and if not, to urge them to get them in order. If they put it off until too late, they condemn their nearest and dearest not only the grief of their loss, but the significant burden – and resulting resentment – of sorting out whatever financial, physical and emotional debris they’ve left behind.
